Designing of fire safety and engineering systems

Designing of fire safety is a comprehensive and multifaceted process to protect people, buildings and property from fire. It involves the design of fire protection measures and the architectural, structural and organizational solutions, and sets out the objectives for other engineering parts, ensuring full compatibility of solutions.

Main design principles:

Compliance with legislation and standards

Our projects comply with the applicable national and international legislation and normative documents, including the Lithuanian Construction Technical Regulations (STR), the European Union directives, EN standards and ISO requirements. This ensures that solutions are legal, efficient and practical.

Drawing up of design tasks

Fire safety solutions are more than technical requirements – they are an essential part of any project, directly affecting the quality, functionality and success of the entire project. The impact of these solutions is felt in all parts of the project: from architectural solutions to the compatibility of engineering systems and the overall level of safety of the building.

For fire safety solutions to be effective, we aim to formulate clear and specific tasks that are:

  • Tailored to a specific project. We carefully evaluate the purpose, size, and structural features of the site as well as the related technical requirements – our solutions are customised exactly as needed.
  • Easy to implement. We ensure that the tasks can be clearly understood by all project participants – from architects and designers to customers and contractors.
  • Consistent with other parts of the project. All fire safety tasks are coordinated with other engineering parts to ensure their smooth implementation and integration.
Risk assessment

Each project is unique, therefore, when the legislation permits, we carry out an individual risk assessment:

  • Fire scenario simulation. We use advanced software (FDS) to analyze potential fire scenarios and assess their consequences.
  • Probabilistic risk assessment. We analyse the likelihood and potential consequences of a fire to identify the most appropriate preventive and extinguishing measures.
  • Compensatory measures. We plan for compensatory measures that ensure a legally required or higher level of safety even in non-standard situations.

Designing of fire protection systems is not only the implementation of technical requirements, but also a strategic process in which the needs, functionality and specific situation of the facility are analysed. Each system we design is carefully tailored to the specific facility by taking into account its purpose, size, structural features, and potential fire risk.

Our range of solutions includes:

Fire detection and alarm systems

Early detection of fire is an essential step in preventing a disaster. We design reliable alarm systems that ensure fast and accurate dissemination of information to alert people.

Smoke removal systems

Effective smoke control is critical to preserving evacuation capabilities and minimizing damage to the building structure. We design:

  • Natural ventilation solutions – smoke removal by natural air circulation.
  • Mechanical smoke removal systems – efficient smoke removal by using fans and other equipment to ensure effective smoke removal.
  • The flow fan system works efficiently, directing smoke and toxic gases to the intended extraction points.
Automatic extinguishing systems
  • Water systems. The most efficient solution for many buildings that ensures quick firefighting and minimal impact on the environment.
  • Water mist systems. Ideal when it comes to reducing water consumption but maintaining high efficiency of extinguishing.
  • Foam systems. Used in industrial and flammable material sites where extremely fast response times and high efficiency are required.
  • Gas systems. The perfect choice for server rooms, museums or archives where it is important to protect sensitive objects from water or mechanical damage in case of firefighting.
  • Condensed aerosol systems. Modern solutions that ensure quick firefighting with minimal intervention.
  • Fire line valves. The essential component in fire safety, which ensures simple and quick extinguishing in case of fire.

We prepare high quality fire system projects that comply not only with Lithuanian normative standards, but also international standards (NFPA, FM Global, VDS).

Our team uses the most advanced design tools that allow us to achieve the highest degree of accuracy and quality:

  • 2D and 3D formats. Thanks to traditional 2D solutions we quickly assess the essential aspects of the project while the 3D BIM technology allows us to model the integration and operation of systems in detail.
  • BIM environment. A modern platform helps with effective planning, managing and analyzing projects from start to finish.
  • Hydraulic calculations. We ensure that each element of the system will operate optimally and efficiently as required at the specific site.
